Innovative Headboard Promises to Dress Up America’s
“Naked Beds”
New York City – March 26, 2008 – Levinsohn Textile Company
announced today the introduction of BackDrops™, a revolutionary new type of
upholstered headboard that retails for around $99. BackDrops™ feature an
upholstered slipcover and an inner-air cushion, and set up tools-free in under
5 minutes.
“We
have created a design solution to the problem of beds without headboards, or
so-called “naked beds.” said Adam Levinsohn, President of Levinsohn. “With BackDrops™,
owners of “naked beds” can now add the finishing touch of a headboard to their
bedrooms. Our lightweight and easy-to-use headboards are stylish, comfortable,
and remarkably affordable.”
Recent
analysis and focus group research conducted by Levinsohn Textile found that as
many as 100 million beds in the
US
do not have a headboard. The cost and size of headboards, as well as the fact
that many of the people rent their homes and therefore don’t invest much in
decorating, were the top three reasons given for why consumers have not
purchased a headboard for their bed.
BackDrops™
are patent-pending, and the headboards are available in a variety of
contemporary, casual and traditional styles. They are a great value when
compared to more expensive wood and metal headboard products.
“America’s
‘naked beds’ can be found anywhere:
master bedrooms, guest rooms, children’s rooms and dorm rooms,” said
Levinsohn. “With BackDrops™, we have addressed the cost and set-up concerns
people have with traditional headboards.
BackDrop™
Headboards will be sold at select Bed Bath and Beyond stores nationwide, and at
and www.backdropheadboard.com, www.RugsUSA.com and NetShops.com.
